How JCW have evolved over the past Century

Although JCW Energy Services Limited in its current form is a relatively new company, the group has history within the industry dating back to 1903. We are people with experience in providing large national maintenance and installation contracts to a wide range of public sector clients, and providing mechanical and electrical specialist services to multi-site retail and leisure companies. We are also people with expertise in the design and installation of large commercial and industrial scaled air handling systems.

Today JCW is in a unique position where it not only employs nearly 250 dedicated staff but also can offer mechanical and electrical maintenance services with an equal amount of engineers within each discipline.  This means that we can self-deliver hard facilities management services nationally through our mobile engineering workforce as well providing full project management and installation services through our network of eight offices.

We pride ourselves on providing outstanding service, quality and value, serving clients across the length and breadth of the UK – in design, installation, service and maintenance, testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment.

2022

Through significant and continuous planned growth, even with the difficulties faced over the the 2019 pandemic, we came out the other end in a solid position within a highly competitive industry. Thanks to the hard work, flexibility and dedication of our loyal colleagues, we officially expanded and added Scotland to our list of operational offices.

2019

Through extensive collaboration with one of our key clients, in 2019 JCW designed and implemented a solution that blends the requirement for Reactive Fabric Tasks and PPM tasks. We established our national network of Fabric Engineers in the same year, and now we offer flexible, affordable and effective Building Fabric & Handy Person Services to all clients, existing and new.”

JCW Energy Services Limited in its current legal form was established in 2014, this may sound relatively new, however JCW is actually formed from the legacies, people and expertise of several Gas, Electrical and Mechanical companies that have operated in this industry field, for some, since the turn of the 20th century, in 1903.

Years leading up to this saw the union of big players in the field of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. As a single group, with services in planned and reactive mechanical maintenance as well as design and installations of AC units, we were able to extend our services nationwide. A wider variety of industry clients came on board during this period such as leisure giant Buzz Bingo and electricity distributor, Western Power.

1903

In 2014 Leicestershire based national Electrical and HVAC maintenance provider became part of the JCW Group, and brought with them, more retail and leisure sector expertise. With their roots dating back to 1903, the formerly known Wathes was a family run business that started with electrical contracting in the Midlands. Throughout the years, this entity grew to include air conditioning project and maintenance services for the whole of the UK, as well as mechanical and electrical planned maintenance contracts for many national high street retailers that remain loyal clients to this day.
