JCW Energy Services provide electrical testing services and compliance inspections across the UK mainland. Industries we work with include schools, universities and government bodies in the public sector, as well as the leisure, retail and commercial sector. Our team of fully qualified, chartered and professional engineers are NICEIC registered, multi-disciplined and are supported by our team in the Leicester, Cambridge, Cardiff, Bristol, Leeds and Ipswich offices.

Regular Electrical Maintenance 

Regular testing of your electrical equipment can prevent electrical accidents or fires occurring in the workplace, it is a requirement under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 as well as for many insurance policies. On each JCW engineer attendance, we outline potential hazards, check for breakdowns and submit remedial requests. Visits from our maintenance engineer will also provide your on site staff with any refresher guidance on the safe use of electrical installations if required.

JCW's electrical testers are fully qualified, experienced NICEIC approved engineers. JCW’s our engineers are trained to be adaptable to all built environments and regulations, on both a planned and reactive basis. As part of regular electrical statutory compliance testing, Our services include:

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

JCW can provide Portable Appliance Testing to comply with your electrical compliance needs. All items tested and passed are issued with its own pass certificate to file a detailed, traceable report.

Fixed Wire Test 

Electrical Installation Condition Report for electrical distribution equipment in accordance with IET Wiring Regulations BS7671.

Electrical Remedial 

To ensure your electrical systems are safe for continued use and complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. An Electrical Installation Condition Report would highlight any defects or damages, remedial works required will be suggested to rectify these and ensure the premise operates in compliance.

We recognise the importance for safety of people first and foremost, and secondly continuity of work. Emergency lighting system powered partially on main electrics should be carried out annually by the “responsible” person on site or hired contractor where the emergency units are left illuminated for 3 hours.

Health and Safety and Your Responsibilities

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 places legal duties on employers to protect the employed through the provision of a safe working environment. Statutory Compliance is a legal requirement and normally the responsibility lies with a nominated person or team within the compliant company. JCW work with Operations Manager, Facilities Manager, Building Managers or Health, Safety and Compliance Managers.
