Annette’s BATHALF for Alzheimer's Society
/Meet Annette
This is Annette, a dedicated member of our admin team in the Leicester office. She has gone and signed herself up for the 2024 Bath Half Marathon, set for March next year. The 'BATHALF' as it is affectionately known, is one of the longest established and most popular city centre road events in the UK, starting and finishing in the World Heritage city of Bath.
New Challenges
This particular half marathon is considered a fast and flat course and Annette has raced it many times over the years. However, this time round it will be a little bit different for her. Due to having Arthritis and Bronchiectasis, running now certainly comes with new challenges and Annette knows it won’t be as easy as it used to be.
Despite her physical struggles, Annette is training hard for the event as she plans to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
About the Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer's is a devastating illness that is becoming far more widespread, and everyone associated with the sufferer's life is affected and the Alzheimer’s Society need help with research and medication to help alleviate the symptoms.
By raising funds with Annette, we aid the charity’s relief to those living with dementia today, and give hope for the future. We can help contribute towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
In Training
Having already started running three times a week, slow and steady, Annette is making sure she will be fighting fit for March 2024, and her determination and selflessness are truly inspiring. Let’s help exceed her Alzheimer's Society Fundraising target, as Annette defies her own limitations and trains for the Bath Half Marathon.
“Please - anybody who can afford to make a donation please give as much or as little as you can afford to this worthy cause, because none of us know if we will ever be affected by Alzheimer’s.”
-Annette
