JCW love stories about our amazing staff going above and beyond their duties, we are also proud and humbled when they do brave and amazing things for a worthy cause outside of work. Here at JCW we celebrate the staff we employ for their commitment to charities. We have half and full marathon runners, icy cold lake swimmers, rough terrain bike riders. Doing charity challenges runs in the families of our staff too, a great example of this, is that in a few months’ time, Kaycie-Leigh, the young daughter of our Cardiff AC engineer Dave Brock will be taking part in Cancer Research Cardiff’s Pretty Muddy Kids September 2018.

Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids is a brilliant muddy obstacle course just for the little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for BEATING CANCER.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Everyone here at JCW is behind Kaycie-Leigh in helping Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.

Here’s Kaycie-Leigh’s touching story behind taking the challenge.

“It has been 10 years since my Great Grampy died and is missed every single day.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer so suddenly and within days he couldn’t fight it anymore. Everyone was truly heart broken. My mum couldn’t have asked for a nicer Grampy, he did so much for her, took her to so many places and loved her so much. Such a warm and gentle man who wouldn’t hurt anyone, my great Nan was extremely lucky to have such a wonderful husband to share her life with.
I’ve been told that cancer has hit 5 other family members, this is very sad to hear :-( so I am going to run my little socks off and get as muddy as possible for my family, please keep sponsoring me.
